Set deep in the Welsh countryside, it began with a brief that was refined, thoughtful and grounded in function as it was to become a home for holidays.

The property itself an impressive open-plan build with expansive glazing offered a striking architectural canvas. Our clients asked us to soften the modernity, introducing authenticity and character while maintaining the integrity of the contemporary structure.

To create warmth and balance, we layered natural materials against the clean lines of the build. Bespoke joinery was carefully designed to enhance flow and purpose, ensuring each space felt intuitive and effortless to live in. The open-plan layout demanded cohesion, so every element from cabinetry to lighting was considered as part of a whole.

A calm, neutral palette forms the foundation, enriched with tonal variations of green inspired by the surrounding landscape. These subtle shifts in colour bring depth and connection to the countryside beyond the windows, grounding the interiors in their setting.
